Pennsylvania Wedding | Love in a Rainy Forest

We never knew how much we would connect to Pennsylvania. To us, it just seemed like another Indiana: humid as hell in the summer, and cold and nasty in the winter. But experiencing a Pennsylvania wedding dead-set in the middle of a foggy forest was unlike anything we’d experienced before. It was the kind of day that stands out while you’re living it, that you take extra notice to without really knowing why. Maybe it’s something lingering in the air, maybe it’s a shift in the seasons. Maybe it was that pivotal day between fall and winter where the Earth adjusts ever so slightly.

We woke up the morning of Virginia and Jeremy’s wedding on an early fall day. It had rained the night before, and some of wedding guests had attempted to camp but got completely rained out. So, we expected some rain most of the day and decided to make the best of it. By midday, a dense fog rolled in that only a place like Pennsylvania could muster, and the rest was magic.

After the ceremony we journeyed deep into the forest, traversing through soggy, deciduous earth and underneath rain-covered trees. We happened upon a waterfall that seemed too opportune to waste. The pair snuggled up with one another among the rocks and reveled in their first moments as husband and wife. The love that these two share and their sweet, loving family made for an amazing small, intimate wedding day.
